John Keleher Obituary

Pittsford, NY: Passed away on December 22, 2012 at the age of 94 with his wife and daughter at his side. He was, formerly, a longtime resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Born In Rowan, Iowa June 9, 1918 to John C. and Eunice Keleher. He grew up and attended school in Rowan. His family moved to Hampton, Iowa his senior year, where he graduated from Hampton High School. He was in the Army Air Corps from 1942-1946. In 1943, he married Sena Kjar. While in the service, he became an air traffic controller. After the war, he continued his career working for the FAA at Midway Airport in Chicago. In 1962, he transferred to Colorado Springs, Colorado where he worked until his retirement in 1973. John and his wife enjoyed his retirement, traveling, watching sports, fishing and most of all spending time with family and friends. Loving husband of 69 years to Sena Keleher, beloved father of Nancy Hanushek, devoted grandfather to Eric Hanushek Jr. and Megan (Joan Schockow) Hanushek. He is also survived by cherished relatives and friends including adopted family, Alonzo and Cheryl Mestas and daughters, Rheanna and Melissa. In remembrance of John and his love of animals, donations may be made to: The Humane Society at Lollypop Farm, 99 Victor Road, Fairport, NY 14450 Private interment at White Haven Memorial Park.
