John Krupka Obituary

John M. Krupka, Sr.
John M. Krupka, Sr., 85, of Allentown, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2013, peacefully, in his home, in the loving care of his children and grandchildren. John was the husband of Agnes Johanna (Heber) Krupka, who passed away February 12, 2006. Born in Allentown, John was a son of the late Pantaleon and Amelia (Ziemba) Krupka. He was an active member of The Cathedral of St. Catharine of Siena and participated in many of the parishs organizations over the past 58 years, including: The Holy Name Society, The Men of the Cathedral, Little Lot Committee, and BSA Pack & Troop #74 as a committee member and chairman, and a multitude of other volunteer positions at the parish. John was a graduate of William Allen High School in 1946 where he was member of the football team and band. He served the US Military during the Occupation of Japan with the 25th Division Artillery as a Battery Clerk, and was Honorably Discharged in December 1947. He was employed by the US Postal Service, retiring in 1990 after 43 years of service as a clerk, supervisor, and Director of Finance. He was an active board member at the First Class Postal Credit Union until the time of death. Survivors: Americo Salini Esq., husband of the late Jane Krupka Salini, their children, Christian his wife, Stefanie, Andrew his fiancee, Hallie Harris, and Joanna; daughter, Mary and husband, Patrick Kelly, their children, Caitlin, her fiance, Blake Unis, Ryan, and Andrew; sons, John Jr. and wife, Nancy, their children, Ian, his wife, Shannon, and son, Sean, Adam, his wife, Allison, Annie, her husband, Justin Cooper, and Juliana, Mark and Sandy DeYonker, Marks children, Matthew and Sara, her husband, Kurt Eisenhuth, and daughters, Catherine and Ryleigh, James and wife, Diana, their children, Alexander, Elizabeth, Nicolas, and Natalie, Gerard and wife, Rosann, their children, Zachary and Philip, John L. and wife, Kimberly, their children Aleksander, Ethan, and Ellianna. John was predeceased by brothers, Joseph and Walter; sister, Josephine; and daughter-in-law, Cathy Krupka, wife of Mark. Services: Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 31, in the Cathedral of St. Catharine of Siena. Call 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, ODonnell Funeral Home, 908 Hanover Ave., Allentown, and 9 to 9:45, Saturday, in the Church. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Johns name to the Jane Krupka Salini Scholarship for Nursing c/o Allentown Central Catholic High School, 301 N. 4th St., Allentown, PA 18102.
