John Lemley Obituary

Dr. John Stephen Lemley, a father, husband, brother, and physician, passed away at his home in Colorado Springs, May 6th.

He is survived by his wife, Sherrie Lemley and sons Ben, Anthony and Gene Dwinell, his sons Thomas and Craig Lemley, his brother Jim Lemley, as well seven grandchildren whom he cherished.

Steve was born March 24, 1947 in Laramie, Wyoming to Harold and Frances Lemley, both of whom preceded him in death.

He began his professional and family life after completing medical school at the University of Colorado and opening a practice in St. Louis, Missouri, where he welcomed the birth of his first son, Thomas. in 1987, Steve relocated his family and business to Colorado Springs where his second son, Craig, was born, and where he lived the remainder of his life.

Steve met his wife, Sherrie, in 2005, they married May 19th, 2007. Together, Steve and Sherrie were able to enjoy watching their children and grandchildren grow, and would have celebrated their 9-year anniversary this month.

An avid golfer, skier, and all around "outdoor-lover", Steve was always able to relive the best of times by reminiscing on days spent with his family on the slopes, golf course, and at home, and his experiences in the mountain country he so loved.

As a professional, Dr. Lemley dedicated his life to serving patients for more than 30 years, often fostering life-long friendships with those in his care.

His memory will live on.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Steve's life at 11:00AM on Friday, May 20, 2016, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 2111 Carlton Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80909, followed by a short reception.
