John Maestas Obituary
John Maestas was born on January 30, 1949 to Porfirio Maestas and Frances Martinez Maestas in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
John had a heart the size of the world and the compassion to put himself in anyone's shoes. He was loved by everyone who met him and there will never be another like him.
His love for others reflected his love of Christ; sincere, real, and never-ending.
John was a loving Christian father and an amazing musician, cook, and entrepreneur. He passed an abundant amount of courage, strength, wisdom, and integrity to the world. His sense of humor brought everyone joy.
He will never truly leave us as he forever will live in our hearts, like open arms that welcome him.
John is survived by his first wife, Isabel Maestas; their children, Lily Maestas Hipkins & Eric, Yvonne Maestas Aragon & Joe, Monica Maestas Parker & Patrick, Paul Maestas & Debbie; his second wife, Lisa Vigil; their children, Johnny Angel Maestas & Rhonda, Melissa Maestas Leon & Eddie, Arthur Padilla & Miranda, James Romero & Emily, Faith Sanchez & Emilio, Jacob Lopez, & Tiffany; brothers, Samuel, Freddy, Lawrence, Thomas, Rudy, Eugene, Alfonso, Eddie, and Bobby; sisters, Darlena Tapia, Mary Ida Coppick, and Alice Cordova; twenty-nine grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Johnny Rey Maestas (1967 – 1990).
A Visitation will be held 1PM to 2PM, Saturday, January 4, 2014, at Life Church Pentecostal, 1318 N. Circle Drive, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909.
A Funeral Service will be 2PM, Saturday, January 4, 2014, at Life Church Pentecostal.

I was very sad to hear of my uncle passing away! I have so many fond memories of him and my aunt Isabel growing up. You were one of my fav's uncle, I know you and my dad are up there having a good old time. You guys were always good to me and my sister and I will always remember that. How we begin realize and cherish everyday is a gift from above. Memories that come to mind were your blue glittered sunglasses, the term "Hot Pants" referring to a construction incident published in the daily newspaper when your trousers caught fire, and of course the term "I'm telling You" Ha ha. Many Many memories remain and you will be missed, may you rest in peace. My condolence to all.
