John Martineau Obituary

John Robert (Bob) Martineau, born on May 23, 1925, in Devils Lake, ND to Fortune and Adelaide (Gallagher) Martineau, grew up in Cando, ND where he graduated in May of 1942. He attended 1 year of college at NDSU and enlisted in the Navy in June of 1943 just as WWII broke out. He served on 3 ships and in 4 hospitals, changing duty stations 9 times due to his highly-specialized training as a pharmacy technician. Upon completion of his service in 1946, he completed his BS degree in Pharmacy. He returned to Cando to work in the family pharmacy until marrying Virginia (Ginny) Teubner on February 8, 1964. They moved to Jamestown, ND where Bob opened the Professional Pharmacy Shop. Their son Darcy arrived on December 4, 1965, and in April of 1972 the family moved to Colorado Springs where they opened a Medicine Shoppe pharmacy. Bob retired in August of 1990. An avid Duplicate Bridge player, Bob earned 342 Master Points (it takes 300 to be a Life Master). Bob spent his retirement reading, playing bridge, and traveling with Ginny.
