Not sure what to say?

October 17, 2018

Dear Mrs. Meredith,
I just recently learned of the passing of John. My deepest condolences. He was a lovely man and I most enjoyed talking with him as a member of the AARP Tax Assistance Program when it was held at Silver Key. He will be missed.

My sincere condolences for the sad passing of Uncle John. Our hearts sank when we heard the news. He was a fascinating person. John was my father's name sake when his sister Alice had a boy. My son also carries the name John. I wish my child had had the opportunity to get to know him such a remarkable man, Uncle John. May God comfort the family during this tremendous loss. Prayers and love. Matthew 5:4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

As a friend and coworker of Captain John I was extremely fortunate to have spent many hours with him at both Hewlett-Packard and Agilent. Never a negative word and always positive, John was a genuinely nice person and will be greatly missed. A great mentor. Our thoughts are with you.

Dear Lorraine, I am so sorry to hear of John's passing. You will be in our family's thoughts and prayers. John was on my interview team for H-P in 1995, and after getting hired, John became a friend and mentor to me. When it came to serving others, teaching those around him, and spreading his good humor and cheer, he absolutely never held back. The world was a far better place with John in it.

Dear Lorraine, we were so sorry to hear of Johns passing. You both were great neighbors and helped us get established in the new neighborhood. Working with John at Honeywell and Hewlett-Packard was a great privilege. He was a great mentor and always worked in a Navy story to get his point across! Will talk with you when we return from visiting our daughter. With sincere sympathy, Mark and Maria Michaels

I'll always remember John with a twinkle in his eyes and a smile on his face. Both were always with him. And his ability to "think outside of the box" and find solutions when problems arose - especially IEEE problems. He was a great friend.

Although we were contemporaries at HP, I got to know John when we were both members of the retiree club. What a delightful man! John was always willing to pitch in on whatever task we faced, and I enjoyed knowing him very much. His dry sense of humor helped smooth the path through any situation.

I will miss you very much, John, as I know all who knew you will. I know you will be a great help in Heaven, making the days there even brighter. Rest in peace, my friend!

I had the pleasure of working with John for several years. He was always a delight with a dry sense of humor, such a gentleman and friend. He will be truly missed by many of his "old" colleagues at HP/Agilent.

May you rest in peace! Your friendship and mentorship for IEEE will not be forgotten. I was looking forward in working and learning from you as my Vice Chair for the IEEE Pikes Peak Section.
