John Panian Obituary

John W. Panian, age 92, of Colorado Springs passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2006 at Mt. St. Francis Health Care Center. He retired after 37 years with Friden / Singer / TRW. John Wenzelous Panian was born on August 6, 1913 in Madelia, MN to the late Frank and Mary (Hahn) Panian. After high school, John served in the United States Army from 1940 - 1945 and married Elizabeth Ann Buller on March 2, 1944 in Ft. Lewis, Washington. Mr. Panian was a member of Divine Redeemer Catholic Parish, the Knights of Columbus, Council 582 (and the Assembly 88) and the American Legion. He is survived by his loving wife, Betty of Colorado Springs; a son: Pat (wife, Denice) Panian; two daughters: Sharon Panian of St. Louis and Therese (husband, Scott) White of Colorado Springs. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter: Maureen Paap and a son: Joseph Panian. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at Divine Redeemer Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Garden of Angels. A reception will then follow at the White residence. Memorials in John's memory may be made to Silver Key Senior Services, 2250 Bott Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80904 or to the charity of the giver's choice.
