John Prindle Obituary
John B. Prindle, age 73, of Erie, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2013. He was born in Erie on July 13, 1939, son of the late John and Laura Newberry.
John was employed at Skinner Engineering and then General Electric Co. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. John was a member of the Star Club and enjoyed hunting and driving his '55 Olds. John will be remembered as a hard working, strong willed man who would always help anybody. He will be missed.
John is survived by nine children, Rebecca Graves, Laura Guarino (Bob), Darlene Campbell (Woodrow), Cyrel Miller (Mike), Mark (Sandy), Chris (Karen), Michael, Eric and Catherine Prindle; three brothers, Vincent Prindle, Larry and Butch Newberry; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Roger, and three sisters, Rosalie, Jeanie and Evalee.
Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Saturday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a Funeral Service there on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. conducted by Rev. I'd like to thank everyone for their comments here and the support given over the last week. It was gratifying to see the enormous amount of people who took the time to come to the services held for my father. Its a testament to the impact he had on so many over the years. Many people spent considerable time in our home over the years and got to know my father well. Especially when he took great relish in kicking them out of the house if they didn't have a job. They took it in the spirit intended -- tough love -- and the laughter we would share afterwards is still remembered to this day. It is the fondness that everyone expresses when talking about their interactions with my dad that will stick with me forever. Over the years, when reminiscing with someone about my dad, the first thing they do is smile and then laugh as the tell their story. We should all strive to be remembered in such a way.
