John Foreman Proffitt, age 95, of Colorado Springs was called to his heavenly home on December 4, 2023.
He was born on November 22, 1928, in Jonesburg, Missouri, to parents Waldo Emerson Proffitt and Eulah Proffitt. He and wife Beverly of Hannibal, Missouri were married on September 4, 1949.
John and Beverly were long-time members of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Colorado Springs and volunteered at Compassion International for 23 years.
Survivors include his wife of 74 years, Beverly; 3 daughters Dr. Janet Christy of Colorado Springs, Patricia (Frank) Podriznik of Georgia, Jeannie (Loren) Koors of Missouri; 7 grandchildren Laura Crane, Bill (Kristen) Christy, Jonathan (Laura) Podriznik, Dr. Tim (Dr. Marsha) Koors, Jake (Jess) Koors, Trisha Koors, Krista Koors; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceeded in death by his 4 siblings and son-in-law Dr. William T. Christy.
Memorial Service will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Colorado Springs, on Dec. 14 at 1:30 pm.
