John Shutt Obituary

John S. Shutt Jr. known to most as "Johnster" and known to his grandkids as "Papa John," age 54, a resident of Colorado Springs for many years, passed away suddenly Wednesday April 4th 2012. He was retired from Safeway after 32 years of service at various Colorado Springs stores. John Stanley Shutt, Jr. was born on July 9, 1957 in Burlington, Vermont to John and Wanda (Soupene) Shutt. He was a 1975 graduate of Widefield High School in Colorado Springs and later graduated from Denver Automotive and Diesel College in Denver, Colorado. As a hobby, he also learned locksmith. John enjoyed gardening, spending many hours with his mom working in her flower beds. He was a whiz when it came to crossword puzzles. He loved Fords and has a few "Mustangs" to show for it. His best time spent was being at home cooking and spending time with friends and family. John was preceded in death by his father John S. Shutt Sr. on August 24, 2011. He is survived by his mother: Wanda L. Shutt; sister: Patricia (Dan) Shutt-Derksen; son: John III (Monique); three grandkids: Adrian, Isaiah, and Antonio; niece: Dolly Carlson; nephew: Daniel (Shana) Derksen Jr. and family all of Colorado Springs. He will be greatly missed by his family, and all that knew him. To fulfill John's request, there will be no services. Online condolences: shrineofremembrance.com

He was a wonderful man. We had many great times together. We laughed so much and to this day, my kids and I still laugh remembering some of the things he said. He is so missed. I still can't figure out how he did a crossword puzzle so quickly. He was so smart and loved, now he is so missed. RIP dear friend.
