John Sikole

John G Sikole was a Colorado native and well known for painting many custom cars in the area. He was born January 30th, 1936 to Frank and Mary (Lepey) Sikole. He grew up in the mining community of Pike View and graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1954. That same year he married Jo (aka Carmella) in Colorado Springs later raising two daughters.
John absolutely loved the outdoors. Hunting, fishing, hiking, biking and even waterskiing. He spent the summer at Glen Cove Pikes Peak photographing tourists and cars. His time in the Army was at Fort Carson where he painted Army vehicles. John continued to restore and paint classic cars well into his 80s. He always enjoyed working on them, driving and even drag racing them.
John is survived by his daughters, Deb and Dena. He was preceded in death by Jo Sikole, his wife of 54 years. He was laid to rest September 1st at Shrine of Remembrance, Colorado Springs.

Dena, I am so sorry to hear about the death of your dad. I talked with him a few times when I was living in Greencrest. He was always friendly. It´s not easy to have lost both your parents. I wish you healing and good memories.

So sorry to hear that I lost my best friend. He was my best friend during my early years. We hiked, did crafts, fishing. He loved to assemble motorized air planes and race cars. His mother always had ice cream and cookies for us.

So sorry to hear, he was a great person! I was so lucky to have worked with him and get to know him. I still tell everyone he is the best automotive painter I ever knew.
