Mary,
It is with sorrow in my heart that John has left for his place in heaven and I missed the opportunity to say so long. As you know, John gave me my first job in Colorado as a Farmers Insurance agent. I will never forget that he gave me such a great opportunity. We played golf together and had many good times sharing experiences and story telling. One day he told me that he wanted to ask you to go on a date. I will always remember that not long after that he asked me to be the "Best Man" at your wedding. He made a very good decision to make you the important person in his life. I know that he is up there smiling down on you and thanking you for all of his happiness. God Bless John and you.

Dad, I am glad that we had the past year to forgive the past and focus on the present. Mostly I am glad that we had the chance to say what was important to us. I am grateful for our time we spent together. I wish you well in your new life in heaven, and I am glad you are no longer suffering with cancer. Until we meet again.. Much Love, Neil

John's warmth and friendliness made both my husband and I feel so welcome and at home when we moved here from Louisiana in 1999. Though we were only priviledged to know him through his work at the West End Post Office, we both will sorely miss him and grieve with his family and his long-time friends.
May God Bless you all and bring him to his well-deserved place in Paradise.

John was always very supportive and encouraging of my career as an Air Force Officer. Whenever I would visit he always made time for us to go fishing together..and he never made me clean the fish I had caught:-) John certainly treated me like his own daughter, even though I am not a Yankee fan. Most importantly he was loving and supportive husband to my mother. I will miss you John.

Dear Mary, sorry about your loss and mine, too, since John was a good friend. Remember fondly my time with John at FSC, my two visits and dinners with you two in Manitou and the TKE reunions. Just went thru my Simpson correspondence file, including some nice pics of the three of us, and the file is two inches thick, attesting to our communication going back ten years. Will be thinking of John when I'm out fishing on Chesapeake Bay this year. May he rest in peace in the loving arms of our Father in Heaven. With love.

I have missed John at work since he left, but I always knew I could call and talk to him or go and visit, so it wasn't so bad. Now there is a hole that no one can fill. The customers always ask about him, too, as they missed him as much as I did. His wicked sense of humor has not been matched by anyone.

Remember that he lived a good, long life and that he loved you with all his heart, body and soul. He actually glowed when he talked about you, Mary. He was also a wonderful grandfather and loved doing things with the kids. He was proud of all of the children and their accomplishments. He was always bragging about one of them.

He is finally out of pain. You will see him again in heaven as I know that is where you are both going to be for eternity. I wish there was some way he could let me know that George is there waiting for me.

Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you in the future, as I know what you are going through. Even if it's just an ear on the other end of the phone or a shoulder to cry on. Please keep in touch.

My Deepest Condolences & Prayers to John's Family & Co-Workers @ West End Postal Station. Although I did not know John on a personal level. I am a 30 year neighbor of Old Colorado City & will remember his great smile & humor when I entered the Post Office. He seemed like a great person & always seemed to make the long wait in line easy to deal with. He will be greatly missed by all the West Side customers along with so many others he came in contact with.
May he rest peacefully in God's Heaven now.
God Bless your Family & Co-Workers John.
Sincerely,
Mary D. Congiusti
