John Smith Obituary

John Smith passed away on Sunday in an accident at his home, he was 61. John Smith was born October 26, 1946 in Pratt, Kansas and grew up in the Flint Hills of Kansas and the Eastern Slopes of Colorado. He attended the University of Kansas and was a member of Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity. John was blessed with a son, John Bradley Smith while still living in Kansas on May 25, 1972. While in Kansas he worked as an Auto Dealer. Kelley Nicole Smith was born to John on December 31, 1974 in Beaumont, Texas while the family was living there as he continued to pursue a career in the Auto Industry. John had a special affinity for hunting and always had his trusted companion Chevy, a Labrador retriever, by his side. Grateful for knowing and loving John is his mother Alma Lou Smith of Baldwin, Kansas; Gary Smith of Pompano Beach, Florida; son John B. Smith of Richmond, Kansas; daughter Kelley (husband Damien) Bramlage of Denver, Colorado; Janet Moore of Colorado Springs; Pamela Smith of Lawrence, Kansas; grand children: Jacquelyn Smith, Christopher Freeman, Chelsy Freeman, Tiffany Smith and John "Bubba" Smith and numerous extended family members and friends. His father John R. Smith; grandfathers: Tom Harp and John A. Schmidt; grandmothers: Doris Harp and Katherine Schmidt and Aunt Patsy Jean Lecsher preceded him in death. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 20, 2007 at the Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in John's name may be made to the Safe Harbor Lab Rescue, 601 16th Street #C-322, Golden, Colorado 80401.
