John Williams Obituary

John David Williams passed away unexpectedly on August 11, 2009. He was born on March 11, 1946 in Wichita Falls, Texas. John was patriotic and served proudly in the Marine Corps. John was a longtime resident of Colorado Springs and a commercial banker here in town. John loved to travel, fly fish, watch old movies, and most of all spend time with his family. He was known for his generosity, honesty, and integrity in both his personal and professional life. He is survived by his wife, Paula and their four children, Jennie (Jason), Michelle (Nathan), Garrett and David. He is also survived by his grandchildren Isaiah, Lilliana, and Rosalie; two brothers, Mark and Matt; and a large extended family. He is loved so much and will be deeply missed, but we take comfort in the fact that he is in heaven with Jesus. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Heart Association or to Rocky Mountain Calvary Chapel (Africa Pastor Conference). A visitation will be held on Friday, 6:00-8:00 pm. A memorial will be on Saturday, August 15th at 6:00 pm. All services will be at Cappadona Funeral Services, 1020 Fillmore Street.

Paula, Jennie, Michelle, Garrett, and David. Our thoughts and prayers are with you as we hold our memories of John strong in our hearts. When your girls and our two youngest were small, I always thought of him as a "gentle giant". He was so good with all the children. I loved his stories, and yet he never just offered them up in a bragging way, they had to be coerced our of him. We have nothing but wonderful memories of John and his family.
Love and Hugs,
Jim and Joyce Carver and family

Dear Paula, Jennie, Michelle, David, & Garrett:

It is with profound sadness, condolence, and regret that I learned about John’s untimely death. I have many fond memories of his kind disposition, integrity, tireless work ethic, and gentility, and will miss him dearly. Some of the many irreplaceable memories I have are of him teaching me skeet shooting, fly fishing, poker and home improvement methods. My heart, prayers, and tears are with you all as you mourn. I encourage you to draw on God’s strength and the strength of your family.

Wishing you peace during this time and always,

Dan Waldman
