JOHN WILLIAMS
August 14, 2025
John Williams passed away on August 14, 2025, at the age of 96, after being lovingly cared for by his stepdaughter Chris Frandina and the staff at Forest Ridge and Adobe Hospice.
Born and raised in New York City, John and his beloved wife Kay became residents of Woodland Park 35 years ago.
John had a hand in shaping the skyline of New York City, and frequently regaled his family with harrowing and hilarious stories of construction life in the Big Apple. But the job that meant the most to him was the building of the World Trade Center - a place he carried in his heart throughout his life. John proudly served as Business Manager for the Metallic Lathers Union, Local 46 before retiring to move to Colorado.
John is survived by his sisters Nancy, Frances, and Dorothy, and his children Mindy, Jeff (wife Tracey), Marianne, Scott, Chris, and Tom. He is now reunited with his son Bruce and predeceased siblings Frank, James, and Theresa. He was a cherished, attentive grandfather to nine and great-grandfather to fourteen, keeping up with all their adventures and milestones.
John laughed often and loved others easily and deeply. He enjoyed gazing out at Pikes Peak from his window, playing and watching golf, and sipping a good gin martini or scotch.
We'll miss his stories, his funny expressions, the constant sparkle in his eye and his giant heart.
Thank you, John (Poppy), for the good times!
