Johnie, a resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away peacefully at home on April, 18, 2024. Born in Clark County, Alabama to late parents J.P and Margie, Johnie attended Auburn University and served in The Navy as a photographer during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Johnie was a talented artist who formerly owned an art gallery in Gatlinburg, Tennessee and whose work will forever be displayed at Cabin Park in old Colorado City. Johnie was preceded in death by wife Jaclyn Hooker and sister Joan. He is survived by brother Russ, daughter Tanya Snively, son Burke Jackson, grandchildren Chris Snively, Breanne Jackson and Jake Jackson. Services to be held at a later date.

He was married (decades) previously to Elisabeth and had two step daughters Heike and Peggy May, son in law Martin and adored and was adored by his two granddaughters and many great grandchildren. We love you fuzzy face!

Johnie will certainly be missed by the Old Colorado City History Center. His interest in history made him a valuable volunteer at Cemetery walks, speaker and board member. RIP, Johnie!
