I served with Johnie in the National Guard since 1988 and also worked with him at the MATES 64 where he was a mechanic until he retired. I stayed in contact with Johnie for several years then we fell off with communication I guess. I had heard of Johnies passing a year after it happened and could not understand why nobody contacted us at MATES or the National Guard. Johnie was a good friend and an excellant mechanic and I greatly miss him. From all of us at MATES which I am the only one left here that new Johnie we salute you for all you have done for us.

John was just an all around great guy. He always greated me in the morning and I would often speak with him throughout the day. As I am saddened by his passing I know he is in better place so my prayer is for his family to seek out Jesus as the ultimate comforter in this time of grieving.

John touched all of our lives here at Wells Fago and will be greatly missed. I enjoyed the time I was able to spend with him on breaks talking about different things. It is still hard to come in and not hear his voice with a friendly greeting first thing in the morning.

It was a pleasure to know John. Every day he was there to great me by name. He took the time to get to know me and I always felt he was there to look out for me. He would let me know if my tires were low or if my windows were down and it was about to rain. He made everyone here feel that way. I know how much he loved his family and my prayers go out to you all. It was an honor to have known him!

Whenever I came into the office I could count on a greeting from John, who always had a smile on his face. If we had an event or lunch with candy or dessert leftover I always made sure to let John know since he did have a sweet tooth! I will miss his warm presence in our office every time I come in.

To The Winnett Family,

I am so terribly sorry for your loss. I had the honor of knowing John for quite awhile. He was a true dear friend to me. Always checking on me during the day. He was so proud of his family and always had pictures to show. He had a great smile and a wonderful attitude, which rubbed off on everyone he came in contact with. I will miss him so and I will always remember what a wonderful, kind, generous person John was to all of us. May God bless the Winnett Family.

To the Winnett Family:

I come to you with deep regret and sorrow for you personal loss. To the children of John I understand the loss of a father. In time you will understand that he is more with you now than he could have ever been with you on earth. I know it is not much comfort now but in time it will be. For that is all we have....All of us here at Wells Fargo loved John. Walking into work will never be the same for any of us here again. It is now 10:00am and we can't be with you to celebrate his life. But, we are with you in spirit and we were all very lucky to have known this warm, gentle and kind man. To the wife of John...My prayers will be with you always...

My prayers and condolences to John's family. He was truly a great person. I remember when I was a temp, he would call and let me know when my check was in, instead of having to go up front and check on it. He always Had a smile and a "good morning" for you. He will be truly missed. But he will be looking down on us all from a better place.
