Johnny Goins Obituary

Johnny Earl
Goins
October 28, 1943
August 24, 2022

Johnny Goins, loving husband to the late Jenny Goins and companion to Patricia Borah, passed away early Wednesday morning. Born in Matoaka, West Virginia to the late Harry and Margaret Josephine Goins. He was a long time resident of Colorado Springs. He is survived by his children Chris Rocchio, John Goins II (Elizabeth), Jennifer Speer (Dave) and Jamie Kimsey (Jason), and all their young'uns: Kolette, Jennifer, Kacey, Brody, Genevieve, and Daxton. He is also survived by siblings: Betty, Libby, Judy, Donna, Mary Jo, Wayne, Mike, Ronald, Roy and their families. He was proceeded in death by siblings, Troy, James, Bobby and Brenda.

Johnny left home in his teens to join the US Army. Although far from home he remained very close with his 13 brothers and sisters. And going home for visits was something he held dear to his heart. He loved his family so much. He was stationed at Camp Carson and this is where he met his true love Jenny. He was a hard working man who retired an engineer from the Santa Fe Railroad in 2004. Together they cultivated a beautiful life with an amazing family filled with unconditional love, tons of laughter and a huge helpin' of music. Johhny's soulful guitar pickin' and beautiful voice entertained friends and family near and far. A real time Johhny B. Goode. Good times, good parties, good food and great friends where plentiful at their home. He was quick to offer a hand with a wrench or a joke. His quick wit and twinkle of his eye will always be remembered, a true one-of-a-kind. Later, later Pop.

Visitation will be held at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave, Thursday September 1st, from 3pm-7pm.

Funeral will be held at Swan Law Funeral Directors, Friday September 2nd, at 10am, with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetary, at 1:30pm.

Mr. Goins was like a second father to me. Growing up across the street, he was always there to help me and my brother with our cars. As it is, he gave me a lot of the confidence I still have to this day when it comes to everything, as Mr. Goins was what most would call a "Renaissance Man". He was a true role model to many. I love you Mr. Goins!

Until we meet again, enjoy the heavenly poker games with Don and the rest of the gang. God Bless.

Our hearts are broken over the loss of our Uncle Johnny. I have so many happy memories of him playing his Fender guitar with my Dad. I so enjoyed listening to them playing music. We send our deepest condolences to all of his family.

My condolences to all of the family. Johnny always welcomed me with a big smile and hug. Johnny could play and sing any song that you requested. He could also fix anything, a skill passed down to his son John too. Rest easy Johnny!!
