Joleen was born on February 1, 1934, in Topeka, Kansas. She valued the lifelong friendships made at Topeka High School. She graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master's degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Texas.
She spent her career as a dedicated fitness instructor and an advocate for health, nutrition and education. She was an avid runner, swimmer, dancer and enjoyed golfing.
She lived in Pittsford, NY, Houston TX, Castle Pines CO, Colorado Springs CO, Ocean Reef FL & Highlands Ranch CO.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon L. Knap & Donalda Mable Squire and her husband Joseph Graf and step-daughter Michele Allison.
She is survived by her husband, Everett Patterson, two sons Steve Schovee (Allison) of Cherry Creek Village, Colorado and Tom Schovee (Annmarie) Severna Park Maryland, one daughter, Katie Goff of Redwood City, California. Also, five stepchildren, Jace, Claire, Tom, Richard and Mary Ellen. As well as five grandchildren and five great grandchildren and the Patterson and Noyes families.
A private memorial service and Celebration of Life was held on July 5, 2022, at the home of Steve & Allison Schovee, and a second Celebration of Life reception was held on July 8, 2022 at Vi in Highlands Ranch.
