Jon Baldwin Obituary

Baldwin
JON L. BALDWIN
December 6, 1939 January 25, 2019
Jon L. Baldwin beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather peacefully went to be with the Lord on January 25, 2019 at his home in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born in Grundy Center, Iowa on December 6, 1939. Jon was the second of two children born to Charles and Genevieve Baldwin.
Jon attended Grundy Center schools where he graduated from High School in 1958. He was a gifted and talented basketball player. His name is still recorded as most points ever scored at Grundy Center School. After High School Jon attended College in Maryville, Missouri, where he played College basketball and earned his bachelor's degree in finance.
Soon after graduating from college, Jon moved to Colorado Springs to start a career as an accountant, working for several prestigious CPA firms. His love for the outdoors transformed his career path into being self employed and working outdoors. This passion turned into a thriving business that most local people are still familiar with called "Baldwin Demolition and Roll-off." He covered Colorado Springs and the surrounding areas.
Jon was married to Sue (Bloom) Baldwin of Colorado Springs for thirty years. Jon has three sons, seven step children, fifteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Most of the children reside in Colorado Springs with the exception of the two oldest boys who live in Athens, Georgia.
Jon was a successful entrepreneur who loved helping people. He was very generous and compassionate to family, friends and his church. He liked to empower people to succeed.
Jon was a devoted Christian and a member of Charis Christian Center in Colorado Springs.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Genevieve Baldwin. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife Sue, his three sons and seven step children, his grandchildren and great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
Jon will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of life will be held at Swan Law Funeral Services Friday, February 1st at 11 am.
Swan Law is located at 501 North Cascade Ave. The reception will take place immediately following the funeral service at Swan Law. The burial is scheduled for 2pm at Evergreen Cemetery.
