John worked with my grandfather the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, and I always knew him to be kind, intelligent and he was a great keeper. He and my grandfather had a wonderful friendship, and I know they are catching up now. Thank you for your service, I am sorry that I hadn't seen you in so many years. Prayers to your family.

First at the zoo in late 60s and early 70s, again in the 80s, I learned much about animals, people, life and much more. We quickly became social and friendly rivals at times. He looked after my best interests at tge zoo, even when I didn't. We only reconnected online a few months ago and managed to have a day together to relive our pasts, assess the present and express our concerns about futures and other matters. I miss our daily talks online and am grateful to have known him and to have had the recent chance to get to know each other closer in our end game. I'm devastated. Love to his big family.

I worked with Jon for over 30 years at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. He was always a generous and moral person. In those days, the zoo was an amazing place to work. Jon was always a friend and valuable mentor. He will be missed by all who knew him.
