Jon Sholdt Obituary

Jon Sholdt, 73, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at home surrounded by family, after a brief battle with cancer. He was born June 5, 1940 in Greeley, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Lillian Sholdt.

He was a wonderful loving husband, father and proud papa (grandfather) to his three grandchildren. Jon is survived by his beloved family; wife Terry, mother-in-law Edna Ithomitis, daughter Tanya Gray, daughter and son-in-law Althea and Tim McPherson; grandchildren Garrett, Krista and Conner McPherson. All reside in Colorado.

Jon was a Colorado native, living all of his adult life in Colorado Springs. He was a successful businessman owning his own salon, Jon II Hair Design, for over fifty years. Jon was a true witness, generous and loyal to all who knew him. Many of his clients became close personal friends.

He was an accomplished, disciplined, hard-working man. He had enormous pride in his children and grandchildren, who brought him much joy and comfort. His strong foundation shaped the course of his life, which was marked by his love of God, dedication to family, and service to others. He was a devoted lifelong Denver Bronco fan with a passion for the game which was legendary. Jon also took great pleasure in his water garden and enjoyed spending time watching and feeding his Koi.

We will miss him greatly and he will be forever in our hearts.

A private family memorial service was held at the Shrine of Remembrance Rock of Ages Waterfalls and Victory Fountains.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Pikes Peak Hospice for their loving care and support.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial college fund has been set up for his grandchildren. Memorials in his name may be made to ENT Federal Credit Union, P.O. Box 15819, Colorado Springs, CO 80935.

Not sure what to say?

My condolences to the family. Jon was my hairdresser for over two years and I had so many enjoyable conversations with him. He was always so positive and energetic and spoke so lovingly of his daughters, his son-in-law and his grandchildren. I am so sorry for your loss. He was a great man!

So sorry for your loss. Though I did not know Jon for very long I found him to be a very kind and friendly man and always a joy to have in our dental office. My prayers are with all of you who loved this man.

We knew Jon through the Koi Club, and we were always glad to have him around. Our thoughts are with Terry and the whole family at this difficult time. Let us know if you need any help with the pond or koi, and we will be there.

Kindest most personable man I've ever known. Much of what I am today I Can attribute to the time we spent together when I was young. I'm sure that Jon will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Terry and family, our family has known Jon for close to 30 years, our hearts broke when we found out about the cancer. Your Jon was a special man, a great friend, I personally even flew back to Colorado Springs around times I knew I could see Jon. The biggest Bronco fan I have ever known, in the good and bad times. I am so sorry for your loss, the world truly lost a wonderful man and Heaven got that much more wonderful. You are in our hearts and prayers

Terry and family, I haven't words. After nearly 50 years, I felt Jon was a friend first, hairdresser second. He always had a smile and a few wise words. I'm so sorry.
