Jon Williams Obituary

We are so sorry to hear of Mr. Williams's passing. He was such a wonderful man. Not only was he a back-door neighbor of our family for years, but my mom still had designs when she passed away in February of competition dresses she had made for Vivian! We loved cotillion with them both through all of our school years and it helped us with our competitive ice dancing for years. I just saw him a few months ago at the Garden of the Gods Club and had a nice chat with him. I'm glad I got to see him one more time.

Jon was a gentlemen for all generations and a gifted teacher. He instilled confidence in my sons on the dance floor, which will carry over to many new situations throughout their lives. I am so thankful that they had the opportunity to learn from the master. To those he loved the most, how fortunate you are to have had him for so long. What a wonderful legacy he left you. One of serving others, kindness, gentleness. Truly, in teaching manners and etiquette he taught the fruits of the spirit. You have been blessed, as have all of us who danced in his presence!

Oh what joy on heaven and the dancing now that Jon has gone home and dancing with his lovely bride Vivian and others like my mom Eugenia Doran. I will always treasure my memories of cotillion. Iwas in the first Dallas class which was held at the Highland Park Town Hall and remember the white gloves and dancing with my father and that my mom was the first chairman, which was one reason I was so honored when I was asked to chair. I know that my children learned so much and Jon and Vivian made it so much fun.The world is a richer, sweeter, more fun and civil place due to Jon's influence and the programs he started. He was ever the elegant gentleman and we will miss him.My husband Peter sends his condolensces and said" he was wonderful".May the Lord comfort and lift you up you in yourtime of loss. Jon has been so wonderful to me. He was my first dance teacher and he was the one that helped me with my confidence to dance like no one is watching; to just dance. He is a wonderful wonderful man, and always will be. God Bless you Jon, we will meet again. Thank you for all that you have done. Love you.

From cotillion days while in high school to watching Jon and Vivian perform at the Arizona Biltmore, Garden of the Gods Club, and the Broadmoor Hotel, I have fond memories that will last forever.
