Jordan Michaels Obituary

Jordan Michaels, a long time resident of Colorado Springs passed away on January 8, 2015 after a long battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Jordan was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Edwin and Clara Michael who preceded him in death. Jordan is survived by his wife Judith Michaels, his sister Stephanie and her husband Phil, and his brother John.

Jordan is also survived by his son, Anthony and his wife Marlene, their daughter Tracy, three granddaughters, Breonna, Sarah and Lexandria. He is also survived by his stepson Sean and his wife Tami, a stepdaughter Jennifer and her husband Brian; granddaughters Kayla, Autumn, and a grandson Shane.

Jordan served in the Army for 21 years, during that time he was assigned to Embassies around the world, and also assigned to the State Department. He served in Saigon, Vietnam for 18 months, Honduras, Panama, and four tours to Frankfurt, Germany. He also served in the United States at various bases with Ft. Benning being his last duty assignment. During his time in the Army he was awarded many certificates and the Army Commendation medal.

After his military career he went into the field of IT. Working at IT companies as a System Analyst. He worked on government projects for Lockheed Martin, Schreiver AFB, many other IT/government contracts, and NORAD, with two years in Mechanicsburg PA working for the Department of the Navy/Homeland Security. He and his wife Judy moved back to Colorado Springs where Jordan retired. He enjoyed his retirement and did a lot of traveling with his wife to many places in the U.S., and Europe.

Jordan will be missed dearly by his family and friends and always be remembered for his commitment and caring of his family, serving his country and his witty and sometimes over the top sense of humor. He loved to play tricks on people; there are many stories about that.

When Jordan was a young man he visited his Aunt in Colorado and fell in love with the state. 27 years later he moved here and has been here since.

Although Cancer got his body, it never got his spirit-a spirit that truly lives on in his children and grandchildren.

A celebration of life memorial will be held on July 1, 2015 at 10:00a.m. at the Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, Colorado with a reception to follow at the Michaels' home.

Burial will be private for the family at the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Cripple Creek on July 2, 2015.

Donations may be made in Jordan's name to Pikes Peak Hospice or the Children's Hospital in Denver.

We mourn with you. A loved one lost can grieve the heart, and make us yearn for tomorrow, When God will keep the promise he made of no pain, no death, and no sorrow. My prayers are with you and your family.
