Father Joseph E. Damhorst, SJ, died July 18, 2021, in St. Louis. He was 84 years old, a Jesuit for 65 years and a priest for 53 years. From 2002 to 2008 he served as superior and pastoral minister at St. Patrick's Church and Holy Apostles Church in the Diocese of Colorado Springs. Born in Quincy, Ill., on Nov. 9, 1936, to Clarence F. and Erma Meyers Damhorst, he was predeceased by his brother Clarence E. Damhorst and sisters Shirley Cameron and Elaine Boudreau. Prayers to Father Joe and his families; personal and the church. He was a treasure for our community of Our Lady of Sorrows. My oldest son was a Alter Boy for him. He gave the First Communion for my twins. I was on the Parrish Council at the time he was here. He did a re-marriage 55th Anniversary Ceremony for my parents in 2001. He was a blessing for our community. RIP Father Joe on your journey.
