Joseph Edward Golik - 96, of Pueblo, died Thursday, December 3, 2020. He was a quality control engineer and realtor.
Mr. Golik was born May 17, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois. He was the 8th of 8 children born to Stanislaw "Stanley" John Golik (1886-1957) of Austria-Poland who arrived in America in1908 and Sophia "Sophie" (Tabor) Golik (1886-1962) of Austria-Poland who arrived in America in 1906.
Mr. Golik served in the Navy during World War II in the Philippines and Australia.
Mr. Golik married Sylvane "Syl" Elizabeth Schmutte on June 24, 1948 in Chicago. She was the daughter of Frederick Rudolph Schmutte and Sylvia Edwiga Harriet (Maly) Schmutte.
Mr. Golik was a quality control engineer in Chicago until 1972, at which time he relocated to Black Forest, where he continued his engineering career and developed his real estate business.
Mr. Golik was preceded in death by his parents; seven older siblings (John Golik, Mary Ann Golik, Stanley Golik, Genevieve "Jean" Golik Van Reck, Estelle "Stella" Golik Meduzia, Edward Joseph Golik, Mary Golik Lasota); and his wife Sylvane who died in 1988.
Mr. Golik is survived by three sons, James Joseph Golik of Cascade, Colorado; Jeffrey James Golik of Pueblo West, Colorado; and Joseph Edward Golik, Jr. of Pueblo West, Colorado; and four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
