I remember Chief Legere to this day he inspired me as a young, enlisted man at the Air Force Academy, 7625th SPS 1981-1985. I remember his tattoo on his forearm that read WOW but really it meant MOM from his perspective. I think of him and his wisdom daily His advice led me to leave the Air Force and pursue a 40-year adventure as an entrepreneur instead of following in his footsteps as an Air Force career. When he was first introduced to our squadron, he said "stay away from my daughter" and his name was produced Le-Gere, like brazirre" I He used to call me Julie, a name I remember to this day.

RIP Chief Legere!

As I wrote previously, CMSgt Joe was an outstanding contribution to the AFA. Also, he was so proud of his wife and daughters. I had the privilege of having some of his family as students at UCCS and they were outstanding girls just like their parents. Of all the NCOs I knew in the USAF, I put Joe at the top of my list. Hand salute! Dr. Robert A Zawacki, Professor Emeritus CU

Our condolences and prayers go out to Joe's family. He was a great patriot and family man. In the early days at the Air Force Academy, Joe was one of four senior NCOs selected to teach cadets about NCO officer relationships in USAF. This was a very high honor that very few people knew about or remember. Rest in peace Joe. Dr. Bob and Jimmie Zawacki
