Joseph Marcantuono Obituary

Joseph F. Marcantuono, 45, of Belleville passed away on Tuesday in Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday at 10:30 a.m. in St Lucy's Church, Newark, following the funeral from the Megaro Memorial Home, 503 Union Ave., Belleville (megaromemorialhome.com), at 9:30 a.m. Visitation is Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Joseph was born in East Orange before moving to Belleville. He was head of maintenance for the Summit Ridge Nursing Home, West Orange, before retiring. Joseph is survived by his parents, Anthony Marcantuono and Lenore Gittlin; his brother, Damon Marcantuono, and many aunts and uncles.

joe,i got a phone call from frank king yesterday telling me that you passed away.we have not seen each other in over 25 years but i had to come and see you one more time. you were one heck of a good friend growing up in the 70's. your mom and dad were the coolest parents on the block... and the funniest...and had the best basement to play in. i'll never forget all the good times we had.

It was only 5years since last time i saw you, at tommy` s funeral.I will miss you friend.All the memories, of the whole gang hanging out.(Damon, Tommy, Chris, me, Melissa, Mat, and your dad)The love that you had for your brother and the dedication for his music.Im sorry that I cant make It to see you , for the very last time,but i will always remember the old days.Take care my friend, you will be missed. I spent many days and nights at the Marcantuono house and with you around Big Joe one thing was always clear, there was a good time to be had! Definitely the big brother of the group, though not much older then myself, but always there to lend a helping hand. Most memorable will be the smiles that you had on your face and the laughter you brought into our lives. You will never be forgotten

When I look back on the years that we were extended family, I always smile when I think of you. You were a big brother to all of us then, roadie, manager, friend & had that laugh that would stop any of us in our tracks. Joey...growing up and being a part of your family will always be fond memories in my heart. You were one of the funniest people I have known and could always make me laugh.
