I CAN'T REMEMBER THE EXACT TIME OR PLACE THAT I MET JOE, SOMETIME IN THE 60'S.I DO KNOW THAT HE WOULD PASS THROUGH OUR LIVES MANY TIMES OVER THE YEARS. HE AND TERRY WERE ALWAY'S SO WELCOMING WHEN WE WOULD STOP IN TO SEE THEM IN CRIPPLE CREEK.THE FUNNIEST TIME WE SAW JOE WAS IN ASPEN. WE STOPPED TO PICK UP TO GUYS THAT HAD JUST LANDED IN A FIELD AFTER HANG GLIDING ONE OF THEM WAS JOE. IT WAS SUCH A SURPRISE! JOE WAS ALWAY'S ESPECIALLY NICE TO MY DAD [BILL]. THEY HAD MANY GREAT TIMES AT THE WELL.JOE PASSED THROUGH MY LIFE ABOUT TWO YEARS A GO, AGAIN UNEXPECTEDLY BUT ALWAY'S A PLEASURE TO SEE HIM ,UNFORTUNATELY THAT WAS THE LAST TIME. TO ME JOE WAS A FRIEND FOR LIFE NO MATTER HOW OFTEN WE SAW HIM. WE KNOW THAT HE LEFT THIS EARTH BEHIND BUT LEFT US ALL WITH MANY GOOD MEMORIES AND ALOT OF GOOD ENERGY.THANK YOU JOE FOR YOUR SMILE, YOUR WARMTH AND FOR STOPPING BY IN YOUR TRAVELS THROUGH LIFE. SAY HELLO TO MY MOM, SHE ALWAY'S LIKED YOU SO MUCH. Janice&Steve

I first met Joe in the mid to late 1960's after his discharge from the Army at Ft Carson. He was quite a character and we Mike Waggner-Connely and I really enjoyed his company. Like us he was somewhat car crazy. Though married he would at times join us to cruise Nevada Ave, drink some beers and have a good time. Mike later died a hero as a policemen in the Big Thompson Flood of the early 1970's. After I went to college I would still come back to visit with Joe. As a vocational student he had painted my 1956 Chevy as one of his class projects. It looked beautiful when he was done. We also watched Penn State football bowl games together in the late 1960's. Later I saw him when he was working as a barber. My only regret is that I had not seen him in a very long time probably fifteen years or more. Rest in Peace My Friend I will always remember you, your smile, and that Pennsylvania twang. I learned alot from you.
