Joseph Takefman Obituary

OBITUARY JOSEPH (JOEY) TAKEFMAN Joey Takefman passed away peacefully on January 31, 2008, in his eighty-first year. Beloved husband of Annette Tower for sixty years. Loving father and father-in-law of Earl and Mona-Lee (Friend), Janet and Alan Allnutt and Mitchell and Lisa (Maislin). Dear brother and brother-in-law of Nettie and the late Isadore Steinman, the late Herschel and the late Jean, the late Ethel and Froma and Norman Shulman. He will also be remembered lovingly by his many nieces, nephews and cousins and fondly by all those who were proud to call him "Uncle Joe". Joey was predeceased by his life-long friend and fishing buddy Rocky Dorfman and will be sorely missed by Anita. Joey will also be sadly missed by his devoted caregiver Judy Aponesto. We will always remember his positive outlook on life, the sparkle in his blue eyes and his gift for making everyone feel like his special friend. Dear Annette, Janet, Mitchell and Earl,

I was deeply shocked and saddened to learn from Mom of Joey's sudden passing. I can only begin to imagine you sense of shock and loss.
I am very grateful we were able to visit last week, but most grateful for the vivid memory of Joey's pure pleasure as he enjoyed the Mae West I brought and for the genuine warmth of his kiss as we parted.
I hope that comforting memories of Joey as a husband and father will soon ease your pain.
With deepest sympathies,
Sindy Issenman Hopkins

Dear Family, We will miss Uncle Joe! I remember him trying to convince me that he was Daryl Strawberry when I was a kid. He made a good case! He always had a twinkle of fun in those great eyes.
Our thoughts are with you at this time...

I remember with joy my Father's cousin Joey. He always made me (a young boy at the time) special when we saw each other, either at Shul or at his parent's home.

May his memory be a blessing.

My deepest sympathies to my dear Auntie and my cousins Earl and Mona, Janet and Allan and Mitch and Lisa in these sad times. Uncle Joe was a cherished member of my extended family and such a dear brother to his big sister, my Mother, Nettie. He was also a wonderful friend to my late husband, John Harenski, for which I will always be grateful. I will remember him with a smile forever. Love, Joni

Dear Aunty Annette, Earl, Janet and Mitch,
Clifford, the children and I just want to let you know how very sad we are on this day. We will miss "Uncle Joey" so much. Our hearts are with you all today and always. My only consolation is that I like to believe that Joey is not really gone but rather he's just on a very long fishing trip with my Dad and boy are they having a great time together.
love Tina
