JOSEPH DOMINIC VIERA
July 18, 2000 - February 4, 2021
Joseph Dominic "Joey" Viera, 20, passed away on February 4, 2021. He always tried to help where he could and his life was taken while trying to help a friend through a difficult situation.
Joey was born on July 18, 2000, in Florida. He loved to travel and had many fun trips with his family. Among his favorites were Disney and long summer trips that included bear watching in Yellowstone, exploring the mountains and waterfalls in Colorado, Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks, Mt. Rushmore, The Alamo and whale watching with his father in California.
Joey achieved his lifelong dream of joining the Army when he turned 18, and had been stationed at Fort Carson. Joey's desire to help others extended beyond his passing. As an organ donor, he was able to help save the lives of four people.
Joey is survived by his parents Joseph and Lynn; his older sisters Alicia and Paige and his younger brother Christopher. He also leaves behind his grandparents, Jim and Susan; his paternal step-grandmother Susan and his aunts, uncles and younger cousins who all loved him dearly.
The family will honor Joey and celebrate his life in a private family gathering.

I can´t believe it´s been almost 3 years since I lost you, you may not have known this because I didn´t say it often but I loved you more than you could ever know. Not a day goes by that you don´t come to my mind and I don´t tear up because of how much I miss you. I hope you found your peace and enjoying a life of joy in heaven

Hey buddy. It's hard to believe its been a year already. I can never express enough how thankful I am for you helping me through basic. You stuck by my side and always pushed me to be better. You always believed in me. I tell as many people as I can about how you helped me all throughout our time together in basic. I'll never forget sitting up at night talking about letters home in our bunks. I miss you man. I know I'll see you again. Steadfast and loyal Brother.
