Joshua Michael Behan was born in Tucson, AZ on October 22, 1987. He grew up in Colorado Springs, CO where he attended Air Academy High School, and then Aspen Valley High School, graduating with honors. Josh was passionate about helping teens who struggled with psychological disorders, also donating his time to help teachers and parents understand the frame of mind of teens in their care that struggled with self-harm. Both as a volunteer and in his work, his ability to connect with people was a hallmark of the empathy, warmth and joy he brought to friends and strangers alike.
Josh, known as "Shep" by many friends, was known as a fierce defender of those he loved and as someone who was always ready to help anyone who needed a champion. He is survived by his parents, Jeff & Lisa Behan, brothers Jeffrey Jacob (wife Lauren) and Jenner Behan (Kat Klein), and beloved niece, Elysia. He died at Memorial Hospital - Central on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at the age of 34.
The family has chosen to remember Joshua's life privately so there will be no public memorial service at this time.
