Joshua Saxon Obituary

Joshua Saxon, age 15, a lifelong resident of the Colorado Springs area, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at his home in Peyton. He was a ninth grader at Rocky Mountain Classical Academy, where he played football and basketball. Joshua Scott Saxon was born on August 11, 1994 at Penrose Community Hospital to Scott and Linda (Baum) Saxon. His favorite activities included hunting, fishing, playing guitar, and harassing his sisters. He was active in his home church, Sagecreek Community, and the missions program at Crossroads Youth Works, where he participated in his first missions trip in the summer of 2009 to Mexico. Josh is loved by his parents; his sisters: Karin, Brittany and Aryn; his maternal grandfather: Norman (wife, Rose Marie) Baum of Carmangay, Alberta, Canada; his fraternal grandmother: Matilde Saxon of Seattle, Washington; and his cadet sponsor brothers from the Air Force Academy: Ray Kui, and Jesse and James Caldwell. A celebration of Josh's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, April 26, 2010 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful Chapel. A reception will be held following services at Sagecreek Church. Memorials may be made to the Joshua Saxon Memorial in care of Sagecreek Church, 6160 Murr Road, Peyton, Colorado 80831.

I knew Josh before I started going to school at RMCA.He helped me find this school and find my place amoung the basketball team. Being the two tallest people on the teams he always helped me with being Center and how to use our tallness. He had a good heart. I will miss him greatly. I love you Josh! Forever and Always!

To the Saxon family,
Josh was a great kid. Words cannot express the devastation that I feel right now upon hearing that his life has ended at such a young age. My heartfelt sympathies truly go out to you. I know that he will be missed by all of his friends at RMCA and by me, his former math teacher.

I didn't know Josh but my heart goes out to his family. Unfortunately, my boys only met Josh briefly a few weeks ago and I was sure they could have been good friends. We only live around the corner and they exchanged numbers. Sad that you had to go so soon.
To his parents my heart goes out to you. I can not imagine the
sorrow but know when you can not walk "he" will carry you.
God bless!

Josh meant so much to me, he didn't care what grade you were in or what your reputation was he just got along with every one. He was one of the best football players and now the game will never be the same to me. Alec Martinez

Josh made a difference and meant so much to so many. Basketball will not be the same without him and his absence will be felt each and every day throughout RMCA. My heart breaks for all of the kids and for the Saxon family. Thank you God that we are privileged enough to know this family and Josh. Too young, too soon.....enjoy heaven! Josh, you were a great kid that always looked at glass half full and always had a smile. You will be deeply missed forever by all your friends and family. Almost all of the RMCA kids went to church saturday night on your behalf. It was a very emotional time, i hope you have a great life in heaven. Love, Noah

I am the mother of one of Josh's friends...she is misses him deeply. My younger children had the opportunity to go trick r treating with him and some of the other kids this past Halloween. My baby girl got tired and he carried her on his shoulders, she felt so tall, like she could touch the sky. We are all deeply effected by his loss.
My son died 10 yrs ago; although the circumstances are different, I understand your pain! It is the deepest sorrow and pain any human can endure. But there is hope, there is light and love....as I am sure you know.
All of our love is with you and your family.

Friends and family of Josh-I never knew him, but he was close friends with a few of my friends. God bless everyone who was fortunate enough to have him in their life, and know that he will be with you. Josh is in God's hands now. Do not mourn the death of him. but celebrate the life that he had and the time you had with him.
