Joyce DePass Obituary
Joyce Hamasaki was born on January 6, 1964 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Walter and Winnie (Judd) Hamasaki. She grew up in Hawaii and graduated from Radford High School in Honolulu in 1982. She married James Anthony DePass on June 30, 1982 in Honolulu.
The couple moved with the Air Force to Florida, California, and Louisiana. They settled in Colorado Springs in 1995.
Joyce loved coaching volleyball, playing volleyball, and was a helping hand to her many friends. She was a member of the Society of Saint Paul and the Altitude Volleyball Club.
She is survived by her loving husband, MSgt James A. DePass; and her children, Tiffany (Matt) Weisner, Christina DePass, James DePass, John John DePass, Diamond Brooks, Anna Ruth DePass and MaryAnne DePass. She is also survived by her mother, Winnie Thomas; three brothers, Walter (Kathy) Hamasaki, Mark Hamasaki, and John Hamasaki; and her three sisters, Michelle Hamasaki, Debbie Hamasaki and Haunani Victorino. She has ten wonderful grandchildren.
Wake will be held from 7:00PM-9:00PM, Friday, April 28, 2017 at The Springs Funeral Services - North, 6575 Oakwood Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80923.
A Rosary will be said at 10:30AM, with a Funeral Mass to Follow at 11:00AM, Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Saint Isidore the Farmer Roman Catholic Church, 32100 East Colfax Service Road, Watkins, Colorado 80137.
Burial will be at the Church Cemetery.
Joyce will be best remembered for the "Aloha" that she showed to everyone she knew.

Well she was the most loving, amazing person to me... she was my hero, not only that but she was my mom... she has left a footprint and a mark behind and will never be forgotten! I miss her dearly but I am so thankful she is in a better place :) I miss you, mom... I will surely see you one day in the future!

Joyce was everything to me. She was and still is my Kuukahi ... My love for her is far beyond the "love" level ... My heart does not beat without her, my mind cannot think without her, and my life is incomplete without her! We were a tag team in this game of life. Her love Mother Mary was great and now she is with her. Joyce is with her father and other loved ones, she is a bright soul making heaven just a little better! My life will never be the same, but I will walk through the darkness and seek the light of life?

JD, I have known you and Joyce for a very long time and cannot think of a couple more closely aligned at the hip with a love of family and friends. I recall when you pinned on TSgt at the 544th and Joyce was there to celebrate your accomplishment. I have that picture somewhere. I am so sorry for you and everyone that was touched by Joyce. She was a truly wonderful soul.
