Juanita Elaine Claudeanos, 91, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2013.
She is preceded in death by her son, Scott Evan Claudeanos, brother, Allen Samuelson and sister, Verna Ohm.
She is survived by her sons David, Brent and daughter-in-law Elaine Claudeanos; grandchildren Lisa Shaffer, Michelle Steneck and Evan, Emma and Ryan Claudeanos and their mother, Gina; great-grandchildren Matthew and Joshua Shaffer and Cailey and Galen Claudeanos.
Juanita was a Registered Nurse who graduated from Emmanuel Lutheran Hospital in Lincoln, NE in 1944. After graduating she moved to Berkeley, CA to work in the ER at Herrick Hospital. She spent her career working as an Industrial Nurse, Camp Nurse, OR Nurse and eventually OR Nurse Supervisor at Kaiser in Oakland, CA for 18 years. After retirement she continued to serve the community through her volunteer work at the Lawrence Hall of Science.
She was an avid world traveler who will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother but especially as the Annual Christmas Candy Cookie Castle Creator. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a Funeral Service on Tuesday, Nov 12, 2013, 1:00 PM at Sunset View Mortuary, junction of Fairmount and Colusa Ave.'s in El Cerrito. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow.
