Ms. Gerhart was my 5th grade teacher during the 2001 - 2002 school year. I have distinct memories of her class, mainly the books she read to us. The reason I´ve stumbled, very sadly, across her obituary was I just received my copy of Dean Koontz´s Oddkins in the mail. 22 years later, I wanted to reread it. I opened it up and thought "Ms. Gerhart would probably love to know that 2 decades after she first read it to me, I bought my own copy to read it to myself." I have Watership Down on my bookshelf, which she also read to us. No Where the Red Fern Grows. Sorry Ms. Gerhart, it´s still too sad for me to reread. It is amazing how much impact a teacher can have on your life. I wish I hadn´t waited so long to try and reach out to let her know.

Mrs. Gerhart was my oldest son's 5th grade teacher. She was so instrumental in our family's life that she's one of the teachers who made me want to become a teacher. I just looked her up to send her a thank you note, and much to my dismay, saw her obituary. If her family still gets these notes, I want you to know she touched more lives than you can imagine. As she taught in a military community, you may not know the extent of her ripple effect. But she was appreciated.

A true friend. Always made me fruit pizza for my birthday, and enjoyed working with her for almost 27 years at the Flying Ranch. Will be missed

I'm so sorry for your loss. I knew Judy's grandparents, Fern and Paul, well when I was younger, and I remember how important their family was to them and how much they loved you all.

Our grandmother and Judy’s grandmother were best friends in high school. Our grandparents and her grandparents were great friends and were to each other’s houses many times. Her grandparents lived in Colorado Springs for several years and then moved to Florida. Her grandfather died there. When I and others in my family took a vacation to Florida we stayed with her grandmother several nights. I worked with her brother Jeff at TRW for many years. My sympathies to her dad and brother.

Judy and I met in 1993 while working at the Flying W Ranch and developed a long term friendship. My deepest sympathy goes out to her dad, Jeff and Vicky and Judy‘s two nieces. She always spoke so highly of her family. Judy, I will miss you greatly!
