(Harmon) Clark

Born in Garden City, KS to Verl & Erma Harmon, Judy grew up in Garden City and Colorado Springs, CO, graduating from Colorado Springs High School in 1958.

Judy worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for several businesses in the Springs. She and her husband Don bought Bob's Towing in 1979, and the business became her heart and soul.

Who was Judy? Words that come to mind are stubborn and opinionated with a heart of gold. When she talked about Garden City, it was with joy about spending summers on the farm with her grandparents or spending time swimming at the largest hand-dug pool in the country. When the family moved to Colorado Springs in 1950, Judy became a true "westsider" attending Whittier Elementary, West Junior High and Colorado Springs High School. Working after school in her dad's restaurant peeling potatoes and waitressing; she loved roller skating, listening to her 45's and fast cars. She knew the value of hard work, but she also knew what it meant to play hard. She loved cruising Nevada Avenue and the stock car races.

When she met Don Clark in 1967, she called him her knight in shining armor, and they began a life together that she had always dreamt about. They both had a passion for old cars and living life simply. They took in and raised their grandson when their daughter could no longer take care of him. She loved spending time at the family cabin in Grand Lake, playing canasta and eating pistachios. She loved her family and the Broncos. They built their dream home in the Garden of the Gods and later moved to a small acreage in Security so they could be closer to their towing business.

If you asked her where she was going, she'd say "sideways to keep from flying." She did not like driving in traffic nor flying, would not drive on the Interstate, stayed away from "traffic circles" because they made her nervous, and abhorred rude people. She loved her dogs, especially Sydney, and her llamas. Her spirit animal was the mighty wolf.

Judy touched a lot of lives along the way. You always knew where you stood with Judy – friend or foe. She would give you the shirt off her back or mince no words in telling you what she thought.

If she could speak to her family right now, she would undoubtedly say "Listen Karens … get your hearing aids Don, get your acts together boys and live your best lives. Life is short. Love you all."

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Verl & Erma Harmon, her daughter Lynn, and a grandson Justin. Judy is survived by her husband of 54 years Don Clark, sons Randy (Denise) of Colorado Springs, Bill of Wickiup, AZ and Gary (Destiny) of Colorado Springs, along with grandson Steve of Colorado Springs whom she raised. She also leaves behind her sisters Ginger Sievert of Green Mtn Falls, CO, Jo (Dick) Sheehan of Bradenton, FL and a half-sister Pat Vitanza of Apollo Beach, FL; along with 3 other grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Thank you to all who have sent cards and supported the family during this time. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the Pikes Peak Humane Society.

Four years gone by ... just returned from CS and it has changed so much. It will never be the same without you there. Don is doing okay and the boys are the boys (some things never change). Joey and Amber were visiting which made me remember this photo of you and Emma. Brought home some more pictures to scan. Know that I love you and think of you all the time. XOXO

It's hard to believe that two years have come and gone; how quickly our life slips before us. I have conversations all the time with you and sometimes I think you are really listening. Your wolf spirit lives on with your family! Love and miss you!

My memories of Aunt Judy she was a real pistol full of life and the most distinctive laugh. She was a go getter and a hard worker just like Uncle Don. I don't know where the time has gone I miss all of you. I am so sorry for your loss Uncle Don, Randy, Billy, Gary, Steven. Your mom was cut from a different cloth and had strength like no other. I know God will give the strength to pull through this though we are never the same. Know you and yours are in our thoughts. I wish you the best in these times.

Her obituary was truly about Judy, she spoke her mind, but if you were her friend, she was really a friend. No matter when I saw her, she gave her all as my friend and "boss." I will miss her dearly. She was one of a kind.
