Julia Kansa Obituary

Julie was the first born of Bill and Lois Winkler in Pittsburgh PA. Bill's work as a geophysicist in the oil and gas industry soon took him to Denver CO where Julie spent most of her early years where her siblings Janice, Dick and Ellen where born. Bill's work changed again and the family moved to Ardmore OK in 1962. The family later moved to Oklahoma City OK in 1969 where Julie finished High School. In 1974 Julie graduated from South Western State University in Weatherford OK with a BS degree in Medical Technology.

Julie met Al Kansa in 1976 while they both worked for Coulter Electronics Inc. Julie and Al married and moved to Miami Lakes, FL. Their two children Mike and Lara were born in Pembroke Pines FL where they lived until 1989.

The Kansa family moved to Marshalltown IA in 1989 as Al transferred to a field position with Coulter. The family moved again to Colorado Springs CO in 1998 as Al accepted a promotion with the newly formed Beckman-Coulter Inc.

In Colorado Julie worked as a Clinical Research Monitor for Spectranetics Corporation and subsequently worked for other medical device companies. Julie retired in 2012.

Julie enjoyed traveling, snow skiing, sewing and most of all singing with the Velvet Hills Coral group in Colorado Springs.

Visitation will be at Swan Law 501 N. Cascade, Colorado Springs CO 80903 on Sunday January 29th from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.

Funeral services will be held on Monday January 30th at 10:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Monument, 17750 Knollwood Drive, 80132.
