I first met Wayne in 1953 when I was dating my wife, Jo Ann. Wayne and Jo Ann were classmates at LaFayette High. Wayne was always very friendly and courteous. I remember his hair was always in a crewcut and his #10 football jersey as his trademark.
Judy I am truly sorry for your loss.

Judy, as you know Wayne and I were classmates in elementary through High School in LaFayette, Al. He was intellegent, fun loving, smiling person who loved to kid around with his friends and flirt with the girls. He always had a big smile and a hug for everyone. Although I have not seen very much of Wayne in the last 51 years I considered him to be a dear friend and I will always remember his friendship. Judy, I know how dear he was to you and our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. He will be missed.

I have only fond memories about Wayne as a playmate and classmate.
I spent a lot of time at Wayne's house and will always remember the
good times we had at Mr. Sharp's
pond behind their property. The
experiences I had with Wayne will
always be some of my most cherished
memories. Please accept my heart
felt condolence. Elmer Yates 1956

Wayne and I served together from 1956 through 1958. We first met at Syracuse University and were in the same units at Ft. Meade,Md., Ft. Devens, Mass., and at Samsun, Turkey. It was at Samsun that he picked up his nickname, Perry. Although I had not seen nor talked to him since 1958, he has always been one of the men from my youth that I recall with fondest memories.
My condolences to all his family and friends.

I met Wayne in 1956 when we were at Syracuse University. When we talked, we learned that we only lived a few miles apart and had played football against each other in Jr High School.I'll always remember him and how he got the nickname "Perry".
