Julie Harper Obituary

Julie Harper was born in Nashville, Tennessee on February 17, 1959. Her father was in the military and he retired in Colorado Springs in 1968. Julie graduated from Air Academy High School in 1977. She attended and graduated from Fashion Merchandising School 1978-1980. Julie worked at Digital Equipment Corp. for 10 years. After this she taught at Woodland Hills Montessori School where she became the lead Kindergarten Teacher. She obtained an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education, became Director Certified, and Montessori Certified. She was there for 13 years. For the last two years of her working career she was the Director for the First United Methodist Church's Preschool. She always said this was a great way to end the last years of her working history. Julie developed ovarian cancer in 1996. For fourteen years the cancer continued to grow in other areas of her body. Prayer and diet change was the main reason she lived for this time but it was mostly prayer. She was a member of Village Seven Presbyterian Church. It was the support of her brothers and sisters in Christ that helped through out the years of cancer. Julie is survived by her mother and father, Merrill and Jule Harper, and brother, John Harper. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, August 5, 2010, 10:00AM at Village Seven Presbyterian Church, 4055 Nonchalant Circle South, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80917 Memorial Contributions may be made to Pikes Peak Hospice.
