June Loyd Obituary

June 11, 1924- Nov. 25, 2007 June Lintz Loyd passed early Sunday morning at Brighton Gardens, Colorado Springs, at the age of 83. She had recently moved to Brighton Gardens after living for the past 9 years at the Windsong Retirement Community also in Colorado Springs. June was born in Casper, Wyoming, on June 11, 1924 to James Bryant Lintz and Mae Faughender-Lintz. She graduated from Natrona County High School. She was a registered nurse, graduating with honors from St. Marks' School of Nursing at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. She was married to Eugene Loyd for more than 50 years until his death in 1999. She served in the U.S. Army nursing corps as a cadet nurse. June was very active in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, in Lakewood CO, and also the Church Women United. She was very proud to be voted Churchwoman of the Year in 1978. After retirement, the Loyds resided at the Corona cooperative in Denver where they joined Christ Church, and later to Monument, Colorado, where they were members of St. Matthias Episcopal Church. Finally, June moved to Windsong, in Colorado Springs and lived there very happily for her remaining years. She is survived by her children, Georgia Loyd, of Denver, Susan Davis, of Palmer Lake, and Jennifer Otis, of Great Falls, Montana, her grandchildren, Kerry John, Michael and Terry Otis, and her great grandchildren, Jade, Rachel, Paige and Grace John. June's passion was to be of service to others. She selflessly gave of her talents and means to enrich the lives of others. Her love of the Lord and fellow life travelers have been a blessing to those who knew her. A memorial service will be held at 4 pm, Saturday, December 1, 2007 at St. Matthias Episcopal Church, 18320 Furrow Rd. close to Monument, CO.
