Junius Parker Obituary

Junius Parker, 87, was born March 11, 1923 in Plaquemine, LA. He passed peacefully February 23, 2011 in Colorado Springs, CO. Junius entered the US Army in the mid 1940's as a private and retired more than 20 years later as a Chief Warrant Officer. He served in the jail division of the El Paso County Sheriff's Office from the late 60's to the mid 70's before transferring to the State of Colorado Judicial Division. He served as bailiff for Judge Richard Hall in both county court and then District Count until the mid-1980's when he was medically retired after an elevator accident. He was a Thirty-Third Degree Mason. He continued to work as a private investigator for several local attorneys until the last few years, when his health forced him to slow down. In more than 60 years of service to his country and his community, Junius always went to work with a smile on his face. Junius is survived by wife, Ilse Parker of 58 years. One son, Fredrick Parker of Colorado Springs, CO. A nephew Lloyd Parker, niece Kay Keenum and a very close family friend James Estrada. He also leaves to cherish his memory a host of other relatives and close friends. A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, March 2, 2011 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Angelus Chapel Funeral Directors. A Masonic Ceremony will follow the visitation and begin at 6:30 p.m. Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, March 3, 2011 at 10:00a.m. At Angelus Chapel Funeral Directors.
