Justin Cook Obituary

Justin was born and raised in Monument, Colorado. He graduated from Lewis Palmer High School and CSU with a major in Languages (German), Literature, and Cultures. Justin is survived by his parents Jim and Deana Cook, his brother Jason Cook his grandparents Jim and Lois Poyner, and Robert Cook and Glenna Cook. Justin is survived by his family and friends and the love of his life, Betsy Williams. Justin loved life, lived life, and laughed often. When we think of Justin we think of ice hockey, motorcycles, skateboards, wakeboards, snowboards, and jet skis. We also think of German, beer, and Betsy. Justin you are the joy of your parent's hearts and your brother's best friend. We will miss the sparkle in your bright blue eyes, and the twinkle in your eyes when you teased us. The dimples that grew when you smiled, we'll not forget, but most of all we will miss your future. We will love you and miss you. We will always remember you with smiles and laughter. A Celebration of Life Service is planned for 3:00 pm, Friday, July 17, 2009, Swan-Law Funeral Home Cascade Chapel.

Justin and I went to LP together and he was such an amazing and friendly guy. He truly touched everyone around him with his one-of-a-kind personality. He always said "hi" to me in the halls and made me laugh in the classes we shared. When I think of him, I think of that big smile. Unfortunately, we lost touch after graduation, but when I heard about his death, I was devastated. To his family, I am so sorry for your loss; you raised an amazing man.

I went to Germany in 2006 with Justin, and also had many German classes with him, AND plenty of good nights having a beer at Stammtisch. I always enjoyed his quick wit, jovial humor, and wry grin, and I'm glad I have the honor of knowing him; I will never forget him. His life ended too early, but it was lived more fully than many.

Ein Prosit der Gemütlichkeit unseres Freundes: Justin. Bis wir uns mal wieder sehen, Alter. "Friede Aus".

It was with great shock and sorrow that we learned of Justin's death. We had all enjoyed Justin as a very bright and always cheerful student in our courses. He was extremely devoted to all things German on campus, a fixture in German Club activities: viewing films, volunteering time for bake sales and RamRide, attending Stammtisch and helping at Lerntisch. Justin was well-liked by his classmates and professors alike for his easy-going personality and his ready smile. We were very proud of him as a graduate of our German program, and anticipated only good things for his future.

Our most sincere sympathy to his parents, grandparents, brother, and all who loved this fine young man,

Dear Jim, Deana, and Jason-living in NY we didn't get the pleasure of knowing Justin-but being a cousin of Jim and knowing Deana all these years-we can certainly surmise what a great young man Justin had become. The miles may separate us, but our thoughts and prayers are with you all. As the cousins grew, we have lived somewhat parallel lives-having children that are approximately the same age. It's a wonderful coinsidense that John, Craig and Jim all had kids at the same time. Looking at the east coast kids-really brings home your tremendous loss. Know that all of us are holding you close in our everyday thoughts. Your east coast cousin--

One of our German faculty members just notified us of Justin's passing. Nearly all of the Foreign Languages and Literature's Department at Colorado State University is away on summer break, but any who knew Justin personally will be sad to learn of his demise. Meanwhile, on behalf of those who are still in the dark, my sincere condolences to all of Justin's family and Betsy.

I saw Justin in the halls all the time, we got along but never hung out. I would always tell him he should become a cook and he always laughed. Didn't know him very well but I knew he was a good guy.

My husband and I both went to LP with Justin. We didnt get to hang out with him a lot, but the times we did were so much fun! We had a great time with him and all the guys on New Years Eve 2006. When we woke up the next day, everyone was entertained to find Justin sleeping under the Christmas tree :)

I am so sad and sorry to hear of his passing.

May your memories bring you comfort in this time of grief.

Justin worked across the cubicle wall from me from the day he hired on, so I had the opportunity to observe him for quite a while...He was always in a good humor (even when the Redwings lost!) and was always patient and helpful...In thirty some years of office work, I don't recall enjoying the company of another co-worker as much. Justin was truly a credit to his school and, especially, his family.
May the Good Lord comfort all of his family and friends at this time and forever.

I had the great honor of going to Germany with Justin for school. The trip was incredible, not just because of what we all saw, but mostly because of the new people we met, and Justin's humor, wit, and optimistic outlook on life made him not just easy to like, but love. I am so sad to live in a world without his laughter. He will be missed. Auf Wiedersehen mein Freund.
