I realize this entry is years after the initial loss of your loved one. However, I was reading in my missionary journal about my time in the MTC and came across an entry that led me to do a search on Elder Kinnaird France Mission and this brought me to learn of his passing. I felt I needed to share what Elder Kinnaird taught me in our brief time together in the MTC. I was in a district also learning French but in the clasroom beside his so our two districts got together often. Towards the end of our time in the MTC, I recorded the following: Elder Kinnaird shared a scripture and his feelings and I think his words were meant for me to hear. Basically, he said we need to stop feeling sorry for ourselves and not be afraid. That maybe some of us don't know the French language as well as we had hoped, but that maybe we were here to learn something else. He then went on to say that we can't expect any more blessings if we're not grateful for what we have already been given. I was touched again today by those thoughts he shared so long ago. It is incredible to me how one person's legacy continues to touch lives. I am sorry to hear of your loss.

Dear Family of Justin Kinnaird, We became friends while in the Ensign 7th YSA Ward. Marlene and I enjoyed being served a dinner at the place where he worked on 300 W 300 S across from Pioneer Park in SLC. I was his bishop, and I assisted in his life while in the ward. I am so sorry for his passing, and express my condolences. May the Lord bless you at this time of sorrow. With love, William Kettley

Justin was an amazing host, but more impressive, was the fact that he made everyone feel as though they were the most important person in the world when he was talking to them. Through our business at Nicholas and Company, we had the opportunity to work with Justin for more than a decade. What a kind, sweet spirit he had...he will be truly missed. We are so sorry for your loss.

Kenton, Cheryl, and family,
Our hearts go out to you. There is no greater pain than the pain of the loss of a child. We wish we could tell you that it will get better, but we cannot. We will only say that life will never be the same and you will learn to live differently with the pain still within your hearts. This is an extremely tough journey for you all. Our thoughts and prayers are with you always as you go through this most difficult journey. Remember, God never lets anything happen to us that we cannot handle with His help. He is there for you. Do not forget to reach out to him.
I am sorry I cannot be there with you during this terrible time in your life. Know you are loved, hugged, and prayed for, in spite of the thousand miles or so that separate us.
Lots of Love to my cousins,
Julianne Sones Molek

My deepest sympathy and most heart-felt prayers are with Justin's family and his many, many friends. I am so very, very sorry for your loss.
Justin brought a piece of class and culture to Salt Lake City that we will all remember him for, but mostly, he brought his warmth, charm, friendship and love to every person he encountered. As others have stated, Justin made you feel like you were the most important person in the room. I've never met anyone like him. He is the example I have used for the past 3 years, when talking to staff about customer service/patient care at the medical facility where I work. If we treated every patient we saw the way Justin treated his guests, we would deliver care unmatchable by others.
Justin, I will miss you, but am so very thankful our paths crossed in this world. My life is richer and happier than it ever would have been had I not met you. You are a beautiful soul, who will continue to live on in my heart. I love you, my friend.

Justin personified charisma; no one was immune to his charm. From meeting him the first time, you were struck by the way you became a long lost friend, a confidant, someone always welcome, enjoyed and the most important person in the room. His family is in our thoughts and prayers.

Justin catered a Board dinner for our company in Sept. 2012. My mother had recently passed away. When Justin arrived to start setting things up, he brought with him a beautiful orchid that I thought was to be part of the decoration. No -- it was just for me -- in memory of my mother. What a giving, genuine, & gentle soul he was. I can only imagine the wonderful parties happening on the other side with Justin creating his usual "magic". Condolences to all of his friends & family during this very difficult time.

I served with Elder Kinnaird in Marseilles. He was among the kindest, caring, and loving missionaries I knew. He was both my District and Zone Leader, and was valiant and tender in his service, helping me be a more honorable missionary. He was also so much fun. My prayers are with you as you celebrate his wonderful life.
