K. Charles H. "Charlie" Kleeberg

July 3, 1937

July 30, 2021

K. Charles H. Kleeberg (Charlie), age 84, died at home in Monument, CO Friday, July 30, 2021. He was born in Chicago, IL on July 3, 1937 to Gunther and Helene Kleeberg. As a youth he lived in Belfast, ME and Cleveland, OH. Joining the military eventually brought him to Colorado. He served in the Air Force 4 years and then worked various jobs before starting his own business, X-Ray Specialties, in 1983. His business grew and eventually became Medical Imaging Technologies in Colorado Springs, CO. He enjoyed golf, skiing, hunting and the outdoors very much, and those sports he didn't play he enjoyed watching. Charlie had been active with the Shriners in the past years and had fun being a clown in parades.

He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Karl Kleeberg (his twin), Rolf Kleeberg, and a half-brother Martin Kleeberg, and a sister, Joyce Kleeberg. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Kerry Annette Kleeberg, aged 2. He said she was waiting for her Daddy to come and I'm sure the reunion was sweet.

He is survived by his precious wife (his term) Carol Kleeberg; two daughters, Mica Snow of San Antonio, TX and Julie Roemer of Wheatridge, CO and three stepsons, Jason B. Painter of Littleton, CO, Travis Painter of Lexington, KY, and Caleb Painter of Spokane Valley, WA. He is also survived by a sister, Faye Scissom of Springdale, AR and a half-sister, Kris Kleeberg of Gloucester, MA. Also surviving him are his much-loved grandchildren: Tyler and Spencer Snow, Nicholas and Jacquelyn Roemer, Jasmyne, Bryce and Aliyah Painter, Natalie and Brett Painter, and Nathan and Daniel Painter, as well as 3 great grandchildren: Natalie and Audrey Snow and Jason M. Painter.

Charlie was a kind, quiet and generous man who loved his God, his family, his work and life itself. He and Carol attended and served at Crossroads Chapel of Colorado Springs. He enjoyed working and being productive; continuing to work until March of 2021 when illness forced him to step aside.

Services will be held at Crossroads Chapel, 840 North Gate Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at 4:30 pm. The service is available to Zoom through You Tube at Crossroads Chapel COS.

It was always good to see Charlie walk into your Department! He knew the how and why answers to our questions. If he didn't, he knew where to look. Charlie will be missed.
