So sad to hear of Karen's passing but so grateful for the person she was and the legacy she leaves. She was my voice teacher in Calgary Alberta from 1965 - 1974. We have kept in touch every year since through Christmas cards. She was a person that I never wanted to let go of. She was a huge influence in my life and I will treasure my fond memories of her. I will miss her but I know she loved the Lord and I suspect that she is now singing in the heavenly choir. God bless you and your family at this sad time.
Best regards,

I am so sorry for your loss. Karen was my voice coach back in the mid-90's when I was with the Colorado Springs Rep. Theatre at the Fine Arts Center. We have remained friends ever since, and I visited her on my last trip to Colorado, about 7 years ago. We exchanged cards and letters every year, about 2-3 times each year, and she would update me on her new students and the Broncos prospects for the coming season. I was concerned when I did not receive a Christmas card last month, and again earlier today when I tried to call her and there was no answer or voice mail. A quick Google search confirmed my fears. Karen was the kindest, sweetest woman, and a dear friend, and I will miss her very much.

I am so sorry for your loss. I had the opportunity to help Karen and to get to know her. We shared the same birthday. She had a lot of determination and a strong faith. I am happy to have had the opportunity to get to know her. She will be truly missed.

I am sorry for your lost, Lauren and family. We have gotten to know Karen these past 7 years. What a remarkable lady! She taught Isaiah piano lessons for 4 years and Nate for 2 years. Whichever kids weren't doing a lesson would play in the basement or do homework. We sprinted many a mile in that basement as well as building bigger arm muscles by doing wheelbarrow races. Karen was a great teacher. She had high expectations and rewarded hard work. I am so thankful for the musical start that she gave Isaiah and Nate. Karen was more than a teacher, she was also a prayer warrior and would regularly check on me. I appreciated her friendship and example of living a graceful life despite health struggles. I already miss her very much. May God comfort your family.
