Katelyn Hooper Obituary
ShyAnn was born on August 31, 1997 in Colorado Springs, CO to Tommy Floyd and Sandra R. (Bowles) Hooper. She was very active in many things at Northwest High School including playing varsity basketball; running cross country and a member of the National Honor Society. She was a member at Aurora Baptist Church.
ShyAnn is survived by her parents, Tommy and Sandra Hooper of Haslet; brother, Ryan Clinton Hooper who is attending Texas Tech in Lubbock; grandparents, Dennis "D.L." and Sandy (Thomas) Bowles of Sanger, Bud Hooper of Nocona; uncle, Grant and Denise Bowles and their children, Zachary and Mckinzie, all of Renton, WA; uncles, Robert McCarthy of Durant, OK, David McCarthy of San Angelo, TX, Randy Hooper of Illinois, Scott Hooper of Haslet. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Virginia Hooper and her aunt, Tonya Bowles.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday, February 13, 2014 at the First Baptist Church, Denton. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, February 14, 2014 at First Baptist Church, 1100 Malone St., Denton, TX. Interment will follow at Gribble Springs Cemetery.

I Am So Sorry..And..Heartbroken For Your Lose..I Did Not Know Your Daughter..But...I Am A Mom With 2 Senior Sons Who Went To Northwest. My Son Michael Knew Your Daughter And He Has Nothing But Nice Words That Describe Her. We Are New To Texas...Moved Here , From NY , Almost 3 Yrs Ago, And Katelyn Was Very Kind And Welcoming To My Son. I am so sorry for your loss and the unfathomable pain you must be feeling for the loss of your baby girl. My daughter was a classmate and I have grieved with her. Shyann appears to have made quite an impact on the community during her short time here, one can only hope to have touched half that many people when we're gone. Praying that her walk with Jesus will lead others to seek Him as their personal Savior as well.

I met Shyann when I was her student teacher at Northwest High School in the Spring of 2013. She always had a smile on her face and sparkle in her eyes. I loved her energy. She will always be in the hearts of those she touched. Everyone is in my thoughts and prayers. Smile like Shyann.
