Katherine Alexander Obituary

Katherine Alexander, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1980, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2010, in Colorado Springs. She was born and grew up in Fort Worth, Texas and lived there until she moved to Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents, Reuben and Minnie Musslewhite; her sister, Eunice Head; and her son, Michael Edward Alexander all of Texas. She is survived by her son, Richard Alexander and his wife Judy of Hot Springs Village, AR and her daughter, Susan Alexander Massie of Colorado Springs. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Chris Alexander and wife Tanya of Cypress, Texas; Jonathan Alexander and wife Paige of Seattle, WA; Delaina Massie of Colorado Springs; Melanie Massie and husband Sven Amirian of Haverhill, MA; and Lauren Massie Woosley and husband Mark of Littleton. Also surviving are seven great-grandchildren, Ashley, Anna, and Aaron Alexander of Cypress, Texas, Jacob Alexander of Seattle, and Balin, Meredith, and Mallory Amirian of Haverhill. Katherine was a homemaker, loving mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her family. She was a long-time member of Sunrise United Methodist Church, where she was active in helping to lead a Seniors' group at the church. Katherine was an avid bridge player who made many friends while playing in several local bridge groups. She also enjoyed the fellowship of many friends at the Rockrimmon Condos, where she had lived since moving to Colorado Springs. To her family, she will be remembered as our "Grandmommy", a title she was most proud and deserving of. A Celebration of Life service will be held in her honor on Thursday, February 4 at 11:00 A.M. at Sunrise United Methodist Church, 2655 Briargate Blvd. in Colorado Springs. Memorial contributions can be made to Sunrise Church, 2655 Briargate Blvd. Colorado Springs, CO 80920.
