Katherine Roe Obituary

Katherine Brewer Roe, 90, died March 22, 2011 at home in Colorado Springs. She was born in Cedaredge, Colorado, May 17, 1920 to Clyde and Alpha Brewer. Katherine moved to Colorado Springs to attend Beth-El School of Nursing, graduating in 1941. She married William S. Roe Jr. (Bill) on Dec. 7, 1941. He preceded her in death in 1980. Katherine worked at Glockner-Penrose Hospital for 22 years as a registered nurse. Her favorite pastimes included reading, crossword puzzles, gardening, and soaking in the tub with a good mystery. She also enjoyed family gatherings with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her four children: John (Georgeanne) of Uxbridge, Massachusetts, Kathie Johnson of Montrose, Helen Murphy (Ron) of Colorado Springs, and Martin (Karen) of Baltic, South Dakota; seven grandchildren: Alanna, David (Jo), Nathan, Kayla, and Sarah Roe, Kelley (Tom) Lyons, Michael Murphy, and great-granddaughter Zoe Morton. She will be remembered and celebrated at a private family gathering, as per her wishes.

Helen,
I remember your mom's peanut butter sandwiches - they always tasted so much better than the one's at my house. I also remember eating rhubarb with salt - something the two of you taught me.
