Kathryn Lancaster Obituary

Katie passed away at the age of almost 98 ½ years. She was shooting for 100 years, but the Good Lord decided that he wanted her in Heaven. Hallelujah!

Katie was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Nicholas Bonck and Amelia Moosa Bonck. When she was three years old, the family moved to Brush, Colorado, where Katie graduated from high school. After high school, she moved to Colorado Springs to attend beauty school, but met her first husband John Walter (Pinkey) Nixon, and married instead. They had three daughters together. Pinkey passed away in 1942.

Katie married Maurice John (Jeff) Lancaster in 1948 to the joy of her three daughters. They were so happy to have a father again and lived happily until Jeff passed away in 1969.

She devoted herself to her daughters and their families, glorying in the grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grand children. Her greatest joys were the kids and working in her yard.

Katie is survived by daughters Carol Iberg, Joan Wolford and Sheila McNeill. She is also survived by grandchildren Corey Collins, Kelly Muirhead, Michael McNeill, Linda Moran, Jeff Iberg, David McNeill, great grandchildren Courtney Ebner, Matt Bloom, Caleb Collins, Danielle Meeks, Stephanie Leppke, Ariel Collins, Bailey Collins, Brandi Collins, Nia Iberg, Joshua Iberg, Anastasia McNeill and Katherine McNeill. She has also been blessed with 9 great great grandchildren. Sister, Ruth Jinright of Slidell, Louisiana, and Bob Bonck of Arabie, Louisiana, also survive her. One grandson, Kevin Collins, predeceased her.

Katie's funeral will be at Evergreen Funeral Home, 1830 E. Fountain, Colorado Springs at 10:00 AM Saturday, April 22, 2017. Interment will follow at the Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 Fountain Blvd. Visitation is on April 21 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Evergreen Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Katie's name to Ascension Lutheran Church, 2505 N. Circle Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80909.

A special thanks to Pikes Peak Hospice and Brookdale at Bear Creek for taking care of her.

Dear Grammie Katie
You will greatly be missed! You were more of a mother than a great grandmother to me. I always looked to you for advice, and some how had a way of making things seem ok when things were falling apart! Thank you for always believing in me and standing by my side no matter what! I know that you are definitely an angel and that you will help to guide me through the rest of my life!! Tell my Mom & Dad I said hey and I miss them also! I know these coming days are gonna be tough, but I know you are in a better place!

Love Courtney, Lawrence, Ariella Ebner
